It truly is the most wonderful time of the year, but it’s also one of the most stressful. There’s so much to do, so many people to see and so many gifts to buy it can get overwhelming. I want to share 5 tips that I’m using this year to keep stress levels down and to help myself and hopefully you too really enjoy this season!
- Learn to say “no”
I know, I know, I stink at saying no too but it’s the only way you can keep your sanity during such a busy time. Don’t over exert yourself and plan so many activities you get burnt out. Make sure you keep time in that busy schedule for ‘you time’ and family time.
2. Get some rest
The holidays are full of go, go go, doing this, doing that, seeing this person, seeing that person. Don’t forget after such a busy day, you need to rest. Relax on the couch with some hot cocoa and a Hallmark movie. It’s okay to relax and turn your brain off for a couple hours. You deserve it!
3. Remember what the season is all about
I know seeing Santa, buying gifts, baking cookies, decorating the house and making gingerbread houses is a definite perk of Christmas, but don’t forget what this season is all about. When you feel yourself losing the true meaning of Christmas, take a deep breath and remind yourself of what is truly important.
4. Make a list
I don’t know what my jumbled brain would do without lists. Lists make me feel like I have my life somewhat together and that’s good enough for me! Utilize those lists during this crazy season!
5. Buy the shoes!
You heard me, buy the shoes! It’s ok to reward yourself during the Christmas season! If I could suggest a pair of shoes that will lift your mood immediately, it’s these Restricted Shoes taupe, Wink Wink, open toe booties! Now that’s how you relieve holiday stress 😉 Oh and shoes make great gifts too!
